Shopify POS’s core advantage is inventory that is genuinely one pool. When a customer buys the last small blue hoodie online at 2pm, the in-store system reflects that immediately. No Sunday night manual reconciliation. No overselling. For a multi-location omnichannel retailer, this alone justifies the higher plan cost compared to running Square + a separate Shopify store.

POS Lite vs POS Pro — the real difference

POS Lite handles basic transactions. POS Pro adds:
